Type a word or two about your business and pick its industry: every name shown has a .com you can register today.
Looking up…
The five styles.
- Your word first or the industry word first: two words joined, such as brew + harvest.
- Blended: two words sharing their middle letters.
- Invented: the start of your word with a brandable ending (-a, -o, -io, -ora, -ify…), a name you can own outright.
- Classic: your word with a company word (co, studio, labs, works) or a friendly prefix (get, try, the).
Picking one.
- Say the shortlist aloud to a friend and ask them to type it: the name strength checker does this radio test for you.
- Check the same name as a username on the platforms you will use, with the brand name checker.
- Search the trademark registers before you print anything.
Questions people ask.
How does the business name generator work?
Your words meet a list of words from your industry in five plain styles: your word first, the industry word first, the two blended, an invented word made from yours, and classic company names. Every idea's .com is checked, and only free ones are shown.
What makes a good business name?
Short, easy to say and to spell, saying something about what you do or how it should feel, and with a .com you can get. The name strength checker scores any name on those points.
What if every .com is taken?
Add a second word, try another industry, or take the same name on .co or .io, which the page offers when .com is crowded. Free short .si names from the Hivex index are another way in.
Do I need to check trademarks?
Yes. Search the trademark registers of the places where you will trade before you commit: a free domain is not permission to use a name. This is not legal advice.
Is it free to use the names?
Yes. The ideas are free and need no signup; you only pay a registrar if you register a domain.
