Why .si is in the news.
.si has been Slovenia’s domain since 1992.[4] In September 2026 it became the obvious address for anything “SI”, and registrations jumped from a thousand a month to thousands a day.

Is .si right for an AI product?
It reads as SI.
yourname.si reads as “your name, super intelligence”. In Spanish, sí also means yes. Short names work as hacks too, the way jit.si spells Jitsi.[4]
It costs less.
About $12 a year for .si, against about $90 a year for .ai with a two-year minimum.[6] And short, clear names are still free on .si that went long ago on .com and .ai.

Google treats .si as a Slovenian domain, unlike .ai and .io, which it treats as generic.[7] A .si site can still rank everywhere, but it should earn its links and mentions from the countries it serves.
